5335 new cases of corona in 24 hours, 13 deaths: Senior Scientist of IIT Kanpur said – 20 thousand cases are expected in May

After 6 and a half months, more than 5 thousand new cases of corona have come in the country. On Wednesday, 5,335 new cases were found, while 13 people died. Earlier on September 22, 5,383 cases were reported. On Wednesday, 2,826 people recovered from the disease. Currently there are 25,587 active cases in the country. This is the highest since October 9. Then 25,488 people were undergoing treatment. IIT Kanpur Senior Scientist Prof. Manindra Aggarwal said that there is no need to be afraid of the increasing corona infection in the country. It will be like a normal cough and cold. The figures of Corona increasing right now are just numbers. Getting 30 or 40 cases in such a large population is not a serious matter. But, from May, up to 20 thousand cases can come daily in the country.

Center's meeting regarding covid management

The Government Empowered Group One meeting was held on Wednesday amidst increasing Corona cases in the country. Covid management was discussed in this meeting. It was presided over by Dr. VK Paul. In May 2020, the government had formed 6 empowered groups to deal with the corona virus. More than 50 senior officers of the government were involved in these. In May 2021, the number of these groups was increased to 10.

Cases increasing faster in April than in March

The increase in the daily cases of Corona has accelerated. Presently the positivity rate is 3.32%. In 31 days of March, 31,902 cases of corona were reported. In comparison, 20,273 new cases have been received in the 5 days of April itself. This is 63.5% of the total new cases of March. If we look at the average, in March, an average of 1 thousand new cases were found daily, while in April, an average of 4 thousand cases are coming daily. If the infection rate remains the same, then there is a possibility of 1.20 lakh new cases in April. However, according to the way new cases are increasing daily, the total cases of April may be more than this.

Two-thirds of new cases in top-5 states, Kerala at the forefront

Out of 5,335 new cases found in the country on Tuesday, 3,730 were found in only 5 states. Kerala is at the forefront of these. About 2 thousand new cases have been found here. After this, 569 cases have been reported in Maharashtra, 509 in Delhi, 389 in Himachal Pradesh and 351 in Gujarat.
