370 new aircraft in Air India's fleet, a total of 840 aircraft have been ordered from Airbus and Boeing.
All single-aisle aircraft will be equipped with engines from CFM International. Whereas, the first aircraft to arrive will arrive in the second half of 2023. It will carry 25 brand-new Boeing B737-800s and six Airbus A350-900s. The rest of the Vinamons will be delivered in 2025 and in the years to follow.

Air India has recently signed a deal of planes. In its deal, Air India has ordered a total of 840 aircraft from Airbus SE and Boeing Co. The airline's chief commercial and transformation officer Nipun Agarwal said that India has an option to buy an additional 370 aircraft in this order. Aggarwal has told that this order of 840 aircraft was placed about two years ago and started after the process of privatization of Air India.
The Airbus firm's order includes 210 A-320/321 Neo/XLR and 40 A350-900/1000. The Boeing firm's order includes 190 737-MAXs, 20 787s and 10 777s. The A350 aircraft will come with Rolls-Royce engines and the B777/787s will come with GE Aerospace engines. All single-aisle aircraft will be equipped with engines from CFM International. For information, Boeing had completed the agreement with the airline on January 27 this year. A note was issued to employees the same day that the airline was finalizing a landmark order for new aircraft. At the same time, behind this agreement is to modernize the airline.
