Due to the continuous Rainfall in Tripura, 22 people lost their lives and 65,400 people have taken shelter at 450 relief camps as their houses were demolished by the calamity. Heavy rain and slides have done huge damage to India's northeastern state of Tripura on Friday.
As of this morning, most rivers are flowing below the critical mark and from Thursday the intensity of the rain has reduced However, the river Gomti still continues to flow above the danger mark which flows through the district of Comilla to empty into the Bay of Bengal.

Most deaths were caused by landslides and the collapsing of mudwalls 1.7 million were affected, along with extensive damage to infrastructure, crops, and livestock.
Chief Minister Manik Saha said in a Facebook post “... I convey my deepest condolence to the families of the victims. This is an irreparable loss. The state government has announced payment of ₹4 lakh to each victim's family as financial assistance,” he said.
Brijesh Pandey, Secretary of the Revenue Department said in a press conference “So far, 12 people have lost lives and two persons are missing. Preliminary reports suggest extensive damage to physical infrastructure and agriculture crops along with damage to houses and livestock. The actual figures will be known after a field assessment is conducted,”
2,032 places reported landslides out of which 1,789 have been cleared and the restoration of the houses of he accused people is also ongoing. Riflewomen of Assam Rifles are leading the relief and rescue operations in Tripura.

Four rescue columns were launched in various parts of the state, including East Kanchanbari, Kumarghat, Unakoti district, Amarpur of Gomati district, Bishalgarh, Sepahijala and Tripura West. Soldiers in boats are carrying people to safety.
