2 lakh worth of farm loans will be waived off and farmers will get the right MSP if Congress comes to Power, says Rahul Gandhi

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi ruled out any alliance with the TRS in Telangana. He went ahead and launched a scathing attack on its president, K Chandrashekar Rao. Gandhi said as soon as Congress forms its government in Telangana, farm loans up to ₹ 2 lakh will be waived and farmers will get the right MSP (minimum support price) for crops.

In a recent statement, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi said that "Telangana's farmers need not be scared. As soon as Congress forms govt, Rs 2 lakh (farm) loans will be waived off and you (farmers) will get the right MSP. This will be done in a few months' time (of Congress forming govt)." From the current government, he asked "Widows of farmers in the state are crying, there are thousands of them whose husbands committed suicide, whose responsibility is it?"

He further said, "To fulfill the dream of Telangana, people gave their blood and tears & fought for it. We also stood by you. Eventually, the Congress party & onia Gandhi gave a new state to its people despite knowing that it'll harm us. Congress ticket in polls will be given on a merit basis, regardless of how powerful you are, or how big you are. If you are not with the poor, farmers, you will not get the Congress ticket"
