Operation Ganga is being carried out rapidly to bring Indians trapped in Ukraine. Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Arindam Bagchi said that since the issue of our first advisory, a total of 18 thousand Indian nationals have left Ukraine so far. So far 30 flights have reached India carrying 6,400 Indians from Ukraine under Operation Ganga. In the last 24 hours, 15 flights have come to India. 18 more flights are scheduled in the next 24 hours.
Arindam Bagchi said that initially 20 thousand Indian citizens were registered but there were many who did not register. We estimate that there are still a few hundred citizens living in Kharkiv. Our priority is the safe return of Indians.
We don't have any information about Indians being held hostage in Ukraine. We will use the route which is convenient for the return of Indians, to evacuate our people. People are not having much trouble after leaving Ukraine.
