1 terrorist killed in Jammu and Kashmir's Baramulla, search operation continues for security forces

The campaign to free the Ghati of Jammu and Kashmir from terrorists is going on. In the encounter that started between security forces and terrorists late on Saturday evening, a terrorist was killed by the soldiers of the Sen. The encounter took place in the Binner area of Baramulla.
The slain terrorist has been identified as Irshad Ahmed Bhat of Pattan, Baramulla, who was active in Ghati since May 2022 and was associated with the banned Lashkar-e-Taiba, the Jammu and Kashmir Police said. One AK rifle, two magazines and 30 rounds of bullets were recovered from him. Jammu and Kashmir Police in its statement said that, "Security forces launched a cordon and search operation after receiving information about the presence of terrorists at Wanigam Bala in Kareri area of the district. After the terrorists opened fire on the security forces, the search operation started in the encounter. The security forces retaliated, in which one terrorist was killed.

Along with this, the Jammu and Kashmir Police has arrested two terrorists named Tariq Ah Wani and Ishfaq Ah Wani from Sopore. Police recovered two pistols, two pistol magazines and 11 live cartridges from the terrorists. According to the police, both the terrorists had fled during an investigation in Hadipora Rafiabad, after which the police chased them and arrested them. Police said that both these terrorists are members of Lashkar-e-Taiba organization.
