Vadodara Car Crash Accused’s ‘Another Round’: The probe into the car crash in Vadodara has led to theories now as people continue to ponder why the accused shouted 'another round'. 23-year-old Rakshit Chauraisa from Varanasi, who is a law student at MS University in Vadodara, rammed into multiple two-wheelers and killed a woman and injured many.
Rakshit Chaurasiya inspired by Another Round?
On Monday, a report in the Times of India quoted police sources as saying that Chaurasia was referring to the film Another Round after he got out of his car and chanted the phrase. The accused was caught on video screaming the phrase next to his banged-up car moments after the accident. The report says that police found a poster of Another Round at his rented flat in the city.
Another Round is a Danish film that was released in 2020. Starring Mads Mikkelsen in the lead role, the film follows four high school teachers who experiment with maintaining a constant level of alcohol in their blood to boost creativity and confidence.

The film received critical acclaim, including the Oscar for Best International Feature Film. In Denmark, the film was released under the title Druk (Binge Drinking). Vadodara Police have said that Chaurasiya was influenced by the film, but it remains to be seen if he was indeed intoxicated during the accident.
What Is The Connection?
In the film, the four teachers make some rules before they start the experiment and one of which is that they would not drink and drive. As per the probe, Rakshit was part of a group of four, the other being Pranshu who was with him when the accident took place.
Another one is a friend whose house they visited before the crash, as seen in the CCTV and the girl whose name the accused was shouting. While Rakshit said he was not drunk, the test has shown otherwise and a detailed report is awaited.
He was on Sunday taken to the accident site for the reconstruction of the crime scene as well. He has been charged with culpable homicide not amounting to murder.
Rakshit denies allegations
Rakshit though has denied being drunk, claiming that the accident occurred due to a pothole, which caused his car to lose control after its airbags deployed.

"We were ahead of the scooty, turning right, and there was a pothole. The car slightly touched the two-wheeler, and the airbag opened suddenly, blocking my vision. The car then went out of control," Rakshit told.
He further asserted that he was driving at only 50 kmph and had not consumed alcohol, stating that he had attended a Holika Dahan celebration prior to the crash.
Expressing remorse, Rakshit admitted his fault and expressed his willingness to meet the victims' families. "I did not do any party, I was not drunk. Today, I learned that a woman has died and others are injured. I want to meet their families. It is my fault, and I will accept whatever decision is made," he said.
