Sharing an image of himself saluting the Indian tricolour, Shah Rukh wrote, “This Republic Day, let’s promise ourselves to contribute to an India that we can proudly pass on to the generations to come. Let’s uphold the values of the Constitution and hold our heads high with pride. Happy Republic Day and Jai Hind.”

The message, simple yet powerful, echoed for millions alike as a symbol of unity and progress in before the fast-developing changes in India. True to form, SRK spoke words that touched and probed into an understanding of the collective conscience of their nation.

Prominent personalities also wished for a Happy Republic Day. The first to extend their wishes was the equally patriotic actor Akshay Kumar, who called upon his fans to remember the sacrifices that were made during the freedom struggle. He wrote, “Swatantrta keval humara adhikaar nahi, humari zimmedari bhi hai (Freedom is not only our right, but it is our duty as well) We’re free today because of the sacrifices of yesterday. Let’s honour this freedom by our actions and take India to greater heights. Happy Republic Day!”

On the same note, Kamal Haasan also contributed with a poetic note, reflecting the people ideals that made the foundation of the nation. “India was built on a dream, where peace was the answer, not violence; where faith could be practised without fear; where voices could speak freely, and every idea had its place. In our collective hands rests the destiny of a nation that shines brighter with each passing day. Happy Republic Day to you all,” he wrote.

Shah Rukh Khan's message, however, is far more stirring, an alarm clock for every Indian to wake up, rediscover, and revive our shared goal of championing a more stronger India with no odds, awakening millions to reflection on what he, as a citizen or professional, can do to in fact create an imprint on the Indian soil as a nation towards a cause.
