New Delhi: Opener KL Rahul (84), who missed a golden chance to score a memorable century, and All-rounder Ravindra Jadeja scored a solid 56 as India was all out for 278, with a first-innings lead of 95 runs. England was on 25/0 in the second innings, when rain returned and washed out the remainder of the final session of the third day of the first Test match at Nottingham.
Ollie Robinson picked up a five-wicket haul. Rahul and Jadeja had added 60 important runs for the sixth wicket. However, the last wicket pair of Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Shami put on 33 off 26 balls to extend India's first-innings lead to 95. Ravindra Jadeja scored 56 off 81 balls but James Anderson rocked India's progress with two wickets in two overs as he became the third-highest wicket-taker in Tests. KL Rahul missed his century by 16 runs, with Anderson dismissing the India opener for 84.
Earlier, rain had stopped play after just 11 balls into the third day with India at 132 for 4, but England struck shortly after resumption with Robinson dismissing Rishabh Pant for 25.
