PM Modi accusing the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) of concentrating on 'Sheesh Mahal'—the' BJP's term that it has coined for the office and residence of Arvind Kejriwal while he served as Delhi chief minister.

PM Modi Slams AAP Over ‘Sheeshmahal’ Allegations: Modi on Sunday cited, while accusing the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) of concentrating on 'Sheesh Mahal'—the' BJP's term that it has coined for the office and residence of Arvind Kejriwal while he served as Delhi chief minister—and something it projects as signifying the party's corruption.
While addressing the BJP's 'parivartan' rally at Japanese Park under Delhi's Rohini, PM Modi said, “Today, a big newspaper has written about the expenditure on ‘Sheesh Mahal’ based on a CAG report.” He said that while the people in the rest of India endured under the pandemic, the AAP was dreaming of a 'Sheesh Mahal'.

The Indian Express published based on the claim of the CAG report, initiated from the preliminary estimates of Rs. 7.91 crores, the work for the premises of 6, Flag Staff Road, was sanctioned at Rs. 8.62 crores in 2020, and when completed in 2022 by the Public Works Department (PWD), the total expenditure stood at Rs. 33.66 crores.
“You will be pained to know that when people were fighting Covid, running around to get medicines and oxygen, their (AAP’s) entire focus was on making Sheesh Mahal. They prepared a hefty budget for Sheesh Mahal. The newspaper has shown how three times that budget was spent on Sheesh Mahal,” Modi stated.
“Those who brought AAPda (disaster) to Delhi allege that the Centre does not let them work, and the Centre doesn’t give them money. Their Sheesh Mahal proves their lies… This is their reality. They don’t care about the people of Delhi or its development. This is why people are saying, ‘AAPda nahi sahenge, badal ke rahenge (we won’t tolerate disaster, we will bring change)’,” said Modi.
This is ahead of the Delhi Assembly elections; Modi challenged his attacks and said that no welfare will be taken back from Delhi, which runs from free electricity to water to public transport for women when the BJP comes into power and government.
“Ye log apni haar samne dekh kar bhukla lagaye hain (These people are so scared as they are seeing their defeat in the upcoming polls) That is why they are lying that all the ongoing welfare schemes will be stopped if the BJP comes to power… But I promise and assure you all that all the ongoing welfare schemes will continue in Delhi. Par baimanon ka jo theka hai usse hataya jayega (But we will remove the dishonest people’s contract)… We will remove these AAPda people, bring honest leaders, and take forward all the welfare schemes,” said PM Modi.
The Prime Minister also scorned the AAP, which has been running Delhi for the last ten years, for the dismal state of the infrastructure along with the almost nonexistent developmental activities in the city. “The BJP government has introduced over 1,000 electric buses in Delhi and is advancing e-mobility rapidly. In contrast, the AAP government has done little to support public transport in the city. They are neglecting bus maintenance, leading to potholes on every road, frequent traffic jams, and garbage strewn around the city,” he said.
“Since I started to expose these people, they have been in a panic. These people have kept Delhi in a poor state for 10 years, and today, people call them AAPda. They attack me. But see what they have turned Delhi into. In the summers, there is a struggle to get drinking water; in the rain, there is waterlogging; in winters, breathing in the polluted air is tough. Each season is AAPda kaal,” he said.
The energy of the Delhi people is wasted dealing with 'AAPda', Modi said, “Delhi will develop only when AAPda govt is removed… Development will be seen when the double-engine government and good governance reach here.”

“It is also important for the people of Delhi to know how AAPda stops facilities for the poor and the middle class. AAPda sarkaar is not implementing the PM Awas Yojana properly; it is creating hurdles in the construction of houses for the poor. The 30,000 houses constructed for the poor are lying vacant. The BJP regularised hundreds of unauthorised colonies but the AAPda govt is not making arrangements for water and sewer lines there,” said Modi.
The PM also said, Thus, vote for the BJP to make Delhi the number one modern city in the world. “I have come here after inaugurating several projects and laying the foundation stone for more. This excitement and passion of the people of Delhi is wondrous. We are in 2025. It has been 25 years since the 21st century started. This means that 1/4th of the century is over… The coming 25 years are very important for the country’s future and Delhi’s future. These 25 years, India will turn into a developed country. We will see this happen and be stakeholders. A big step in this journey is coming,” he said.
India would be the world's third-biggest economic power in a short time, he said. “We have to develop Delhi like the capital of a developed country… this is what each resident of Delhi wants; it’s our dream… I request the people of Delhi, for your children’s future, to give BJP a chance… It is the BJP that can develop Delhi. Over the past 10 years, the kind of state govt that the people of Delhi have seen is no less than an AAPda,” he said.
Modi told party workers to work hard, go home by home, and make people understand the PM Awas Yojana and other schemes done by BJP. While urging the people of Delhi to vote for the BJP.
The rally raised slogans such as “Modi Modi” and “Ab ke baar badlav layenge, Modi sarkar layenge (This time, we will bring change and bring Modi govt)”.
