Minda added that in the complaint the woman alleged that, the principal attacker (who is a 31 year old Monojit Mishra) had pressurized her into marrying him, but she refused because she had an already established relationship and this was reported by India Today.

She claimed that he then threatened to beat up her boyfriend and frame her parents by stating false charge against them and locking her up in the college and raping her leaving her wounded despite her struggle.

According to police, the woman was working at the law college in the afternoon at around 4 PM on Wednesday when she was asked to wait behind by Mishra. The three suspects locked her in the guard room on the ground floor of the building where the rape occurred at the time of 7.30 PM to 10.50 PM.

“They tried to force me with the intention of having sex. I denied and fought back by not letting him do anything and pushing him back. I cried and asked him to let me go. I told them I have a boyfriend and I love my boyfriend. But they did not agree,” the victim recounted in her complaint.

The complaint says the woman would even implore the accused by touching his feet but to no use. They supposedly forced her to the guard room where she was raped. According to the survivor, her attack went into a panic state where she experienced problems with breathing, so much so that she requested the accused to take her to the hospital, which the lady did not allege to have listened to her.

“They had locked the main gate of the college, and the guard was helpless and did not help,” the complaint added.

In the complaint, the accused taped the incident and used the record as a form of blackmail against her.

“They recorded videos of mine when the accused was raping me. They threatened me to show these videos to everyone if I do not cooperate.”

She also added that they tried to beat her with a hockey stick after she tried to move out. The victim indicated that she was later in the night permitted to move out of the premises under duress of being harmed.

Following the filing of an FIR at the Kasba Police Station, three suspects, including Monojit Mishra, the main suspect, were arrested by officers in relation to the case. Mishra is said to be an ex-student and is currently the general secretary of the Trinamool Congress Chhatra Parishad (TMCP), West Bengal's ruling political party, student wing, and a student organization.

The other two suspects are a 19-year-old first-year student, Zaib Ahmed, and a 20-year-old current student, Pramit Mukherjee aka Pramit Mukhopadhyay.
