Karthik Sivakumar Profile: Karthik Sivakumar is an Indian actor who is famous for his Tamilian films such as Paruthiveeran, Singam, Kaithi, Sardar, and many other Tamil films.

After playing a main role in Paruthiveeran he won the Filmfare Award for Best Actor and later he also won the Filmfare Awards South, an Edison Award, two SIIMA Awards, and a Tamil Nadu State Film Award.

Karthi was on May 25, 1977, in Madras, Tamil Nadu, India. He went to Padma Seshadri Bala Bhavan for elementary school and St. Bede's Anglo Indian Higher Secondary School for secondary school.

He went to Crescent Engineering College in Chennai and got a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering. Karthi thought about going to college abroad after working as an engineering expert in Chennai.

He went to Binghamton University in New York on a grant and got a Master of Science in industrial engineering.

He also took classes on directing while working on his master's degree. Karthi was a part-time graphic artist in New York before he decided to become a filmmaker.

During Karthi's time at the State University of New York, he took two courses in basic filmmaking.

In his personal life, he married an English literature graduate Ranjani Chinnasamy. Later they also had a girl named Umayaal, who was born on January 11, 2013, Their son was born on October 20, 2020, and his name is Kandhan.

Karthik Sivakumar Profile: Career

Karthi is a Tamil actor who started working in movies in the United States after getting his master's degree. He turned down a part in director Mani Ratnam's movie Aayutha Ezhuthu.

In the movie Paruthiveeran, in which he played the lead role, he won his first Filmfare Award for Best Actor in Tamil.

Then he was in Selvaraghavan's action fantasy movies Aayirathil Oruvan, Paiyaa, and Naan Mahaan Alla.

He was also in Siruthai, an action-drama movie that was a copy of Vikramarkudu. His next movie, Alex Pandian, got mixed reviews but was one of the most successful Tamil movies of the year.

Karthi's first movie came out in 2016 and was called Oopiri in Telugu and Tozha in Tamil. It made over 100 crore INR at the box office.

His next movie was Kaashmora, an action fantasy horror comedy that got mixed reviews at first but did pretty well at the box office.
