Tokyo: India's Bhavina Ben Patel has won her second-round women's singles match of Group A, Class 4 category in the Table Tennis event of the Tokyo Paralympics 2020 here on Thursday. She has entered into the round of sixteen. In the evening, another Indian women Table Tennis player Sonalben Manubhai Patel will play her second match in Group D Class 3 category at 5.10 pm.
Today, Bhavina Ben Patel beat Megan Shackleton of Great Britain 3-1(11-7, 9-11, 17-15, 13-11). In the first match yesterday, Bhavina Ben Patel lost to Zhou Ying 0-3( 3-11, 9-11, 2-11).
Yesterday, Sonalben Manubhai Patel lost to China’s Li Quan in group D Class 3 category in a tightly fought match by 2-3 (11-9, 3-11, 17-15, 7-11 and 4-11). Sonal was ahead after the first three games but couldn’t keep the tempo going in the last two games and lost her first match to a better-ranked Li Quan.
