ICC May Act on Akash Deep Send-Off for Ben Duckett: Players React
The verbal hostilities between England and India have peaked not only on the field but also in the stadium among the supporter too.

There has been one thing which an intense and a very competitive AndersonTendulkar Trophy has not missed and that is drama and controversy. The player that was in the limelight in the Day 2 of the fifth test of the series between England and Pakistan at the Oval was Akash Deep, who is at the receiving end of a lot of fanaticism out of his send-off of Ben Duckett.
Once Duckett and Zak Crawley had blown off the stumps of the Indian bowlers and had begun an aggressive start to the English team innings, a number of shots that are not always carbon-copied by others followed, with some unconventional shots to disturb the angles and lines of the Indian seamers occurring also. Duckett after dismissing Akash threw mouths, by saying Akash can not get me out, and Akash got his own back when he dismissed Duckett and flanked him through his arm.

It was all quite different as fans were very fast to react to the incident, some finding the humor in what Akash was doing, but others felt he went a step too far, making contact with Duckett to anger him on the dismissal.
Akash does better against Duckett
Others also theorised that there was a streak of frustration on er response with both him and the whole team bringing in an economy rate of more than 7 at that time. The reaction could have been sparked by the fact that Duckett tried to reverse scoop but it failed, and also by the words exchanged between the two players.
The Indian pace bowler has a decent record against the English batsman as he has sent him back to the pavilion four times in his career, since his first match in 2024. The wicket of Akash was a big one: one would think that after England had started with a roar in the first five overs, the wicket of Akash would have helped India pull the game back as India had a sensational middle session.
In the end, with 48 runs being added to the score after the opening stand of 92 this meant that England did not have a massive lead when it was their turn at bat with 23 runs over and above the tally made by 224 runs by India needed to follow. India fought back after four-wicket hauls by Prasidh Krishna and Mohammed Siraj gave it a chance to win or draw the match as a batter was short due to the injury of Chris Woakes.
Akash and Duckett were not the only players who exchanged a few barbs, as Krishna too shared a few effective words with Joe Root, a reaction which the usually laid back Root is not typically going to give. Sai Sudharsan also exchanged some strong words with Duckett later on after being dismissed by the bowler, after his teammate.
