Chief Justice of India NV Ramana on Saturday expressed serious concern over the increasing violence against honest and hardworking doctors and the registration of false cases against them. The CJI said that he would also like to pay tribute to the unwavering spirit of doctors, who work round the clock for their patients. Doctors are advisors, guides, friends, and counselors. He should always remain an active member of society and solve the problems of the people.
CJI said I am deeply saddened to see the increasing violence against doctors. Many false cases are being registered against honest and hardworking doctors. They need a better and more secure working environment. Speaking at the release of the book 'Atlas of Breast Elastography and Ultrasound-Guided Fine Needle Cytology' authored by Dr. Col CS Pant and Dr. Vanita Kapoor, the CJI said that this is where professional medical associations place great importance. They have to be proactive in highlighting the demands of the doctors.
He said that women constitute 50 percent of the country's population and they are the backbone of the family and society hence their health should get equal attention and care in our society and policies. People especially women in the house take care of everyone's health except their own health. It is the duty of other family members especially their husband and children to force her to go for regular health check-ups so that she remains healthy.
