Waqar Younis regrets his ‘namaz’ comment after the T20 World Cup match of India-Pakistan
Youni’s comment on Mohammad Rizwan offered namaz during the drinks break in the India-Pakistan game in the ICC T20 World Cup on Sunday did not go well.
On Wednesday, Former Pakistan pacer Waqar Younis said sorry for his ‘namaz’ comment which lets down sports fans across the globe following Pakistan’s game against India in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2021. Younis tweeted, In the heart of the moment, I said something which I did not mean has hurt the sentiments of many. I apologize for this, this was not intended at all, a genuine mistake. Sports unite people regardless of race, color, or religion.
He commented on Mohammad Rizwan offering namaz during the drinks break in the India-Pakistan game in the ICC T20 World Cup which did not go well with former cricketers as well as Pakistan fans on Sunday. Waqar said, The manner in which Babar and Rizwan batted, the strike-rotation, the look on their faces, it was amazing. The best thing, what Rizwan did, Mashallah, he offered the Namaz on the ground surrounded by Hindus, that was really something very special for me.
