UP Elections: Congress's 'poster girl' Priyanka Maurya may join BJP

Priyanka Maurya, the face of the poster of Congress 'Girl Hoon, Fight Sakti Hoon' in Uttar Pradesh, may soon join the BJP. Sources said that he visited the party headquarters in Lucknow on Wednesday, prompting speculation that he would join the BJP.

Maurya said, 'Ladki hoon lad sakti hoon' is presented as a slogan only because as a girl, I was not allowed to contest elections as I would never accept or give any donations.

She claimed that instead of giving the ticket to her, it was given to the person who had joined the party a month back. Maurya said that I completed all the formalities, but the ticket was pre-planned and was given to a person who came a month back. I want to send this message to Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi that such things are happening on the ground.

Maurya said that she has been working continuously for more than a year in Sarojini Nagar assembly constituency, but was denied ticket.
