Uddhav's wife Rashmi Thackeray arrives at Shinde's Navratri event, pays tribute to Anand Dighe
The Uddhav Thackeray-led Maha Vikas Aghadi government fell on June 29 due to a rebellion in the Shiv Sena under Shinde. A day later, Shinde took oath as the chief minister.
Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray's wife Rashmi Thackeray on Thursday attended a Navratri event at Tembhi Naka in Thane city and offered prayers to Goddess Durga. Earlier, he visited the party's Thane headquarters 'Anand Ashram', and paid tributes to the late Anand Dighe, who has been a hugely popular leader of the region.
Dighe is considered the guru of Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde. Incidentally, the event that Rashmi Thackeray attended is associated with Shinde and Shinde had attended a procession carrying the idol of the goddess from Kalwa a few days back.
Lok Sabha member from Thane Rajan Vichare, Rajya Sabha member Priyanka Chaturvedi and hundreds of activists of the Uddhav Thackeray faction, mostly women, were present while Rashmi Thackeray left for the Navratri event. She did not talk to the media and left after performing the puja.
