Two Indigo flights avoided colliding in Bangalore
Bangalore was averted due to a major accident on 7 January. Two domestic flights of Indigo were about to collide but narrowly escaped. More than 400 people including the staff of the aircraft were traveling in these two planes.
Bangalore was averted due to a major accident on 7 January. Two domestic flights of Indigo were about to collide but narrowly escaped. More than 400 people including the staff of the aircraft were traveling in these two planes. This accident has happened due to communication disturbances, on which the Directorate General of Aviation Aviation (DGCA) has ordered an inquiry.
These two planes of Indigo are 6E 455 which was going from Bangalore to Kolkata and the other plane is 6E 246 which was going from Bangalore to Bhubaneshwar. Both had taken off in the same direction at the same time, due to which the accident could have happened.
Officials said that both the runways were in use, the officer on the shift decided to use one runway-North runway for arrival and departure. The South Runway will be kept closed but the South Tower controller was not aware of this.
