The Sunday good news -- Country’s biggest, hi-tech, ultra-modern, free hospital for kidney dialysis patients announced in Delhi

The Delhi Sikh Gurudwara Management Committee has announced the inauguration country’s largest, free kidney dialysis hospital. Completely-free of cost hospital, is claimed to be not only the largest but also well-equipped with all ultra-modern facilities. It is high-tech too. The hospital will not charge even a single penny from the patients. “In fact there will no counter for taking money in this hospital. Only a counter for the registration of the patients absolutely free,” says a representative of the committee.

All the expense of the hospital would be borne by the CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) funds garnered from the corporate houses and government’s Ayushman Bharat Seva scheme, he added.

When called on a telephone number of Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee - (DSGMC), a highly-stressed sounding representative, however said, that it is only being inaugurated today.

“We ourselves don’t have all the information yet, neither have all the arrangements been made so far.” She requested to call on Monday for further details. On multiple enquiries she could just say that the hospital is ready and it is located between Sarai Kale Khan and Mahrani Bagh in Delhi.The mobile number of the general manger Mr. Dharmendra Singh went switched off constantly.

However, it is to the believed that such an announcement wouldn’t be made without a proper preparation at the back-end. The community isn’t known for doing any such acts. The representative on the phone, however, has been highly evasive about it.

Headquartered at Gurdwara Rakab Ganj Sahib near Parliament House, the DSGMC is an autonomous organisation. It manages Gurdwaras in the Delhi state, apart from various educational institutions, hospitals, old age homes, libraries and other charitable institutions in the Capital. The Government of India entrusted the management, through an ordinance, to a five-member Gurdwara Board, in 1971.

Furthermore, Another Pradhan Mantri National Dialysis Programme was rolled out in 2016 as part of the National Health Mission (NHM) for provision of free dialysis services to the poor. It started operation in 2018 as per the records. More than 2.3 lakh poor patients have availed the Centre’s free dialysis scheme in the last two years. It is Ghaziabad and nearly 350 patients are claimed to be treated free of cost, according to representative of the hospital.
