The release dates of two biggest films of the year SS Rajamouli's RRR and Prabhas starrer Radhe Shyam are set to be postponed. The release date of RRR is currently 7 January and Radhey Shyam's release date is 14 January 2022. The official announcement to extend the release date of both the films can be done by this evening. The makers are taking this decision due to the increasing case of Corona, as theaters are operating with 50% occupancy in Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu. At the same time, theaters in Delhi are completely closed.
The budget of the film RRR is 400 crores. At the same time, Radhe Shyam, made under the direction of Radhakrishna Kumar, has a budget of Rs 350 crore. The first release date of Radhe Shyam was 30 July 2021, but it was postponed in view of Covid. Its trailer was released on 23 December in the presence of about 40 thousand fans.
Theaters in Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh have been allowed by the administration to run with 50% occupancy. At the same time, the Delhi government has completely closed theaters. The Maharashtra government has ordered theater owners not to run shows after 8 pm. After which the makers fear that the film will not be able to recover its cost.
