The old pension scheme will be restored in Jharkhand too
The old pension scheme was implemented by the Rajasthan government. Now it has also been said on behalf of the Jharkhand government that the state government will consider the old pension scheme keeping in mind the interests of its employees. At present, there are about 1.95 lakh permanent officers and personnel in the state. Of these, 1.25 lakh are under the ambit of the New Pension Scheme, which has been reinstated after the implementation of the Contributory Pension Scheme in 2004.

A delegation of the Government Employees Union, demanding restoration of old pension, met Chief Minister Hemant Soren on Thursday at the Chief Minister's residential office, Kanke Road, Ranchi. The members of the Government Employees Union told the Chief Minister that they had high hopes from the present government. Expressing their gratitude to the Chief Minister, the members said that this is the first government in the state, which has spoken of taking positive initiative on our demands.
