Veteran industrialist Rahul Bajaj had resigned as the chairman of Bajaj Auto on April 29 last year. He left the post citing his age. He was in this position since 1972. Rahul Bajaj was given the role of Chairman Emirates of the company. Neeraj Bajaj, director on the board of Bajaj Auto, was made the non-executive chairman of the company.
The company, in a notice to the stock exchange, said that Rahul Bajaj has contributed immensely to the success of the company and the group over the past five decades. In view of this, the company has decided to make him Chairman Emirates for a period of 5 years with effect from May 1, 2021.
