In the midst of rising inflation, the government on Saturday brought a big relief for the poor. The cabinet committee headed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi has now decided to provide free ration to 80 crore population till September this year. After the start of the Corona epidemic, the Modi government started the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana in April 2020 to provide free ration to the poor. The aim of this scheme was to ensure food for the poor during the pandemic.
Giving free ration to 80 crore people will put an additional burden of 80 thousand crore rupees on the government.Under the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana, from April 2020 to March this year, the government has spent Rs 2.60 lakh crore.
