Temperature reaches 44 degrees in Delhi, rain likely in northern states
Jhansi and Banda in Uttar Pradesh are expected to witness 46 degrees Celsius and Jaisalmer and Sri Ganganagar in Rajasthan at 45 degrees Celsius on Friday.
Delhi Weather Prediction: Amidst the ongoing heatwave in several states of North India, New Delhi is likely to record 44°C during the day and 31°C at night on Friday, May 20, which is higher than the temperature recorded on the previous day.
According to The Weather Channel (TWC), the maximum heat can occur at around 3 pm. The temperature in Gurgaon, Noida and Najafgarh is expected to remain at 44 degree Celsius, while it is likely to record 45 degree Celsius in Ghaziabad.
IMD has also issued an orange alert till May 21 for the northeastern states of Assam, Arunachal Pradesh and Meghalaya. A yellow alert has been issued for Mizoram, Manipur, Nagaland and Tripura till May 21. Rain, thunder, gusty winds, hailstorm and lightning are likely in Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir and Uttarakhand.
