Netizens have given a thumbs up Telegram Messenger on Twitter. Upset over the change in the privacy policy that WhatsApp has announced to implement from February 8, Twitteratis have expressed their anger and frustration.
They are suggesting that WhatsApp users should shift to Telegram Messenger as WhatsApp is no more a secured platform for them to use.
WhatsApp has recently asked its users about a change in its privacy policy. It says that it will share the users’ data with other Facebook companies.
The android and iPhone users have received a message to either accept the policy by February 8 and they will be restricted from using the App.
The new policy is a big shift from the previous one in which WhatsApp had promised to keep the users' data secured as it had said, “Respect for your privacy is coded into our DNA.”
It has also informed about the services that it will be sharing with Facebook.
These are information about location data, IP addresses, model of the phone model, the level of the battery level of the phone and its signal strength, what browser is being used, which mobile network the device is using, ISP, language, time zone, and even IMEI.
“By tapping AGREE, you accept the new terms and privacy policy, which take effect on February 8, 2021,” the new policy says.
It adds, “After this date, you’ll need to accept these updates to continue using WhatsApp.”
It has asked the users to visit the Help Center if they would prefer to delete their account and would like more information.
