Team India announced for the series against South Africa, Bumrah appointed as Vice Captain

Team India has been announced for the three-match ODI series against South Africa. KL Rahul has been made the captain of the team due to the unavailability of injured Rohit Sharma. Jasprit Bumrah has been made the vice-captain. The first ODI will be played on January 19. The second ODI will be played on January 21 and the third on January 23. Right now both the teams are playing test series.

After the T20 World Cup, the BCCI made Rohit Sharma the captain of the T20 and ODI formats. However, just before the Test team's departure to South Africa, Rohit Sharma sustained a hamstring injury during a practice session. After this he also went to the National Cricket Academy for rehab. When it was decided that Rohit would not be fit for the series, the board announced the appointment of Rahul as the captain.
