In the midst of day-long fluctuating events, the name of Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu was sealed for the post of Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh. He will be the 15th Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh. On the other hand, Mukesh Agnihotri, who was the Leader of the Opposition in the current Assembly, will be the Deputy Chief Minister. After finalizing the name of Sukhwinder Singh by the Congress High Command, a meeting of the Legislature Party was held in Shimla on Saturday evening. In this, Sukhu was unanimously elected as the leader of the Legislature Party. Many big Congress leaders including former Congress President Sonia Gandhi, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, newly elected Congress MLA, Chhattisgarh CM Bhupesh Baghel, former Haryana CM Bhupinder Hooda will participate in the swearing-in ceremony.
Mukesh Agnihotri's name has been announced as Deputy CM after the Legislature Party meeting. Mukesh Agnihotri reached the assembly for the first time in 2003 by electing from the Haroli assembly seat falling in Hamirpur district. After this, he has also won the assembly elections in 2007, 2012, 2017 and 2022 from this seat. In this way, after reaching the assembly for 5 consecutive times, now Mukesh Agnihotri has also become the Deputy Chief Minister of the state.
