Congress President Sonia Gandhi will join the 'Bharat Jodo Yatra' in Karnataka on October 6.
Congress President Sonia Gandhi will join the 'Bharat Jodo Yatra' in Karnataka on October 6. Sources have given this information. However, it is not yet clear whether Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra will also attend the yatra along with her mother. Rahul Gandhi and several other Congress leaders and workers had started the 'Bharat Jodo Yatra' from Kanyakumari in Tamil Nadu on September 7. These days the journey is in Karnataka. The yatra will conclude in Kashmir early next year. A total distance of 3570 kms will be covered in this journey.
On Sunday, the third day of his yatra in Karnataka, Rahul Gandhi visited the famous ancient Srikanteshwara Swamy temple in Nanjangud. During this, other party workers were also present with him. Earlier, Rahul Gandhi paid tribute to Mahatma Gandhi on his birth anniversary. He visited Khadi Village Industries Center here. In 1927 and 1932, Mahatma Gandhi also visited.
The Congress in Karnataka on Sunday alleged that the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party is distributing black flags to its (BJP) workers, which it plans to show to Rahul Gandhi when the opposition party's Bharat Jodo Yatra arrives in the city. Addressing reporters here, Congress state unit president DK Shivakumar said, "I have come to know that BJP leaders have distributed black flags all over Mysuru. I will talk to the police commissioner. Showing black flags, throwing stones and eggs will not scare us, let them do whatever they want. I will give them results in future." Congress MLA and former minister Priyank Kharge claimed that the BJP is "worried" by the response to the Rahul Gandhi-led 'Bharat Jodo Yatra' in the state.
