Sonia Gandhi gets a castigating letter from BJP Party president, JP Nadda
The BJP party boss in his letter charged Congress with politicising the pandemic and vaccine policies. He went on to say that in the battle against the pandemic, the senior leaders of the Congress, would be remembered for their "duplicity and pettiness."
On Tuesday JP Nadda, the party president of the Bharatiya Janata Party, penned a letter to his Congress party president, Sonia Gandhi, urging her and the Congress party members to “stop misleading people, creating false panic, and even contradicting the stands on vaccination policy.”
The news comes a day after the Congress Working Committee slammed the central government for its "indifference, insensitivity, and incompetence," Nadda addressed a four-page letter to Congress President outlining the center's efforts to combat the pandemic through vaccination, medical facility expansion, and collaboration with states.
Nadda has provided a comprehensive account of the Modi government's Covid management measures while also lambasting how the Congress and a few chief ministers of the party's controlled states have been more concerned with politics than with dealing with the pandemic.
The party president did not shy away from pointing out to Gandhi about occasions when her party members were making the public wary of taking the vaccination, he wrote, “In a nation that has almost no recent history of vaccine hesitancy, your party has the dubious record of trying to actively create [it], that too, in the middle of a once-in-a-century pandemic”.
Nadda upheld the vaccination programme of the Indian government, claiming that it had already ensured significant coverage of target categories by supplying states with over 160 million vaccinations in the first two phases.
The BJP party boss in his letter charged Congress with politicising the pandemic and vaccine policies. He went on to say that in the battle against the pandemic, the senior leaders of the Congress, would be remembered for their "duplicity and pettiness."
It was expressed in the letter that the Congress party had objected to the application of the lockdown earlier but was now requesting for it. He further said that Congress arranged huge election rallies in Kerala, triggering a rise in Covid-19 infections.
