Former Australian cricketer and legendary spinner Shane Warne has raised questions on the permission granted to star tennis player Novak Djokovic by a court in Australia.
Djokovic is unvaccinated and he has taken a medical ground for that. Australian immigration laws are very tough and it doesn’t allow any person to enter the country without being jabbed.
After arriving in Australia to participate in the Australian Open Championship, he was detained for not taking the vaccine and his visa was cancelled. However, the Australian court heard his case and allowed him to enter the country. It dismissed the objections raised by the government.
Djokovic argued that he has a medical condition under which he cannot be vaccinated.
Warne took to Twitter to oppose this and said, “Are these facts true? As I've read so many different reports in this messy embarrassing saga. Novak tested positive to covid Dec 16 & attended a public event on the 17th that inc children. Said he hadn't travelled in 14 days before arriving in Oz but travelled Jan 2 to Spain?"
Saying that he is embarrassed with this decision which allowed him an entry he wrote, “And did Novak have a medical exemption ? If so - has the person who gave it to him been identified ? What was that exemption ? Just trying to get the facts as I'm embarrassed as a Victorian at this situation. Vic Govt are quiet ? Can someone explain to us in plain Eng please."
