Seelampur Police Station in North-East Delhi nabbed two dreaded robbers

Prompt response and a vigilant approach by the police team of Seelampur in North-East Delhi led to the arrest of two dreaded robbers who were involved in multiple criminal cases including daylight robbery.

On February 24, 2022, information regarding the admission of a person sustaining stab injury was received from JPC Hospital. Immediately police team reached the hospital where it was found that the injured namely Naseem had been referred and shifted to RML Hospital. The police team reached the RML Hospital and contacted the victim.

“In his statement, the complainant stated that he used to work as a tailor in jeans stitching firm in Gandhi Nagar, Delhi. On February 24, 2022, at 09:45 AM when he reached near Shehnai Banquet hall, a person namely, Saif Ali along with his two accomplices approached him and started searching his pockets,” Sanjay Kumar Sain, DCP, North- East District, New Delhi, said.

He added, “Meanwhile, his associates caught hold of him by locking both his hands. On resisting, Saif Ali stabbed him with a knife and fled the spot after robbing his mobile phone. Accordingly, on the statement of the complainant, a case was registered and an investigation was taken up.”

During the course of the investigation, the police team comprising SI Shailender Tiwari, Const. Jaivir, Const. Navneesh and Cons. Nitin under the supervision of SHO/Seelampur scanned and analysed CCTV footage of the nearby vicinity.

Technical surveillance as well local human intelligence was also deployed to collect the input regarding assailants. Through local efforts put up by the police team, the assailants were identified as Saif Ali, Danish @Dhaniya and Faisal @ Mustakeem.

On February 25, 2022, on the basis of secret information, a raid was conducted and Saif Ali was arrested from the area of Seelampur Bus Stand on GT Road.

He was examined and on his instance his associate Faisal@Mustkeem was also arrested from the nearby area. Their identity was established as Saif Ali and Faisal @Mustakeem. On the instance of Saif Ali, the robbed mobile phone was recovered from his house and the knife used in the commission of the crime was recovered from the garbage dump area (Kuda Khatta), Seelampur.

“They confessed to their crime and revealed regarding their third associates namely Danish @Dhaniya. On interrogation, they disclosed their involvement in other cases of robbery in the Seelampur and Shastri park area. On sustained interrogation, their previous involvements in multiple cases of theft/robbery and the Arms act also surfaced. Sincere efforts are on to arrest the absconding Danish @Dhaniya. Further investigation in the case is under progress,” DCP Sain said.
