Seelampur police in North East Delhi arrested five robbers, foiled efforts to create gang

After arresting five robbers, the Seelampur police has not only solved a case of an attempt to murder but also thwarted an effort to create a gang to carry out criminal activities in future.

"On February 6, 2022, a complainant named Abdulla, a resident of Seelampur along with an injured person reached Seelampur police station and said that at around 6:00 in the morning while he along with his friend Faizan was in the Central Park main market, Seelampur, 10 to 15 youths of “Mastan Gang” namely Shoib@mastan, Faizai@pistol, Amaan and others unknown, approached them and started abusing and quarrelling with them," Sanjay Kumar Sain, DCP, North-East District, New Delhi, said.

He added, "When they rebutted the same, all of them started giving fits and blows to Faizan@Prince. Meanwhile, Amaan dragged one knife from his pocket and stabbed it into the stomach of Faizan@Prince. Later, Shoaib Mastan took over the knife from Aman and stabbed him indiscriminately. His other companion also hit Faizan@Prince."

Immediately, the injured was shifted to the GTB Hospital. On the statement of the complainant, a case was registered and the investigation was taken up.

During the course of the investigation police team comprising SI Shailendra, Const. Jaiveer and Const. Navneesh, under the able guidance of SHO Manoj Kumar Sharma, scanned and analysed the CCTV footage of the area. Technical surveillance as well manual sources were deployed.

While investigating, the police team established the identity of the main alleged person namely Shoib@Mastan. During the investigation, it came to light that the above said alleged person along with his associate Faizan @Pistol and Fardeen had assaulted and robbed Yashin of Rs. 4000 same day right after this incident, which had been registered in an FIR.

Diligent efforts put up by the police team paid off and on February 07, on the basis of secret information, Fardeen @Azhar@ Haddi was arrested from the area of Tyre wali Puliya, Seat Market, Seelampur.

He confessed to his crime and on his instance, Sameer @ Moongfali and Aarish were arrested near Kamil Ka Karkhana, Main Road, Seat market, Seelampur.

They disclosed their involvement in multiple cases and revealed that they were boosted up by Shoib@Mastan to work for him in lieu of some amount and for enjoyment. On their instance, Shoib@Mastan and Faizan@Nata@ Pistol were arrested from Central Park Seelampur on 08.02.22.

On interrogation, they revealed that they had a group of 14-15 people under the name of “Mastan Gang” and Shoib@Mastan is their boss. Their modus operandi is, to stop the people, riding alone or with pillion on the two-wheelers and rob them of their belongings.

In case of resistance faced by the victims, they assault them with knives or pieces of bricks. On sustained interrogation, they disclosed their involvement in previous cases.

As all the major Gangs had been wiped out from the area of North East District within the last 10 months, Shoib@Mastan was in the process to raise his own Gang in the name of “Mastan Gang”.

He used to indulge in street fights with local people and in petty crimes to establish his rowdiness in the local area. With prompt action, his dreams have been nipped in the bud.
