At around 7:38 PM on 17.04.25, word was received regarding a stabbing incident involving a person in J Block, Jhuggi Seelampur at PS Seelampur. Upon arrival, the police team discovered that the victim had already been taken by the family to JPC Hospital, where the doctors declared him brought dead. The victim was identified as Kunal, S/o Rajveer, R/o J-225, New Seelampur, age 17 years.

Thus, a case was registered under Sections 103(1)/3(5) at PS Seelampur and investigation was initiated. Given the dimensions of the incident, the Operations Wing/NE was roped in for the investigation along with the teams from PS Seelampur. Several teams were formed to exert efforts for the tracing and arrest of the accused persons.

In a course of investigation, inferences were drawn from various sources of evidence, and suspected accused were identified in the incident. One such female accused, Zikra D/o Sameer, R/o 130/30, CPJ Block, New Seelampur, Aged 19 years, was arrested on the evening of 18.04.25. Police teams of the North-East District carried out operations all over Delhi-NCR, including Ghaziabad, Meerut, Moradabad, and Amroha, Uttar Pradesh. On the basis of a detailed analysis of clues, technical surveillance, and manual inputs, the following persons involved in the case were arrested/apprehended on 20.04.25:

- Sahil, son of Late Laik Ahmed, resides at CPJ-86, J Block, New Seelampur, and is 18 years old.
- Sohaib, son of Mohd Israel, lives at T-373, Gali No. 10, Gautam Puri, and is 35 years old.
- Nafish, son of Salim, resides at House No. 234, Lakhipura, Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, and is 32 years old.
- Aneesh, son of Salim, also lives at House No. 234, Lakhipura, Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, and is 19 years old.
- Zahida, widow of Late Laik Ahmad, resides at CPJ-1/34, Neem Wali Masjid, J Block, Seelampur, and is 42 years old.
- Vikas, son of Ashok, resides at F-34, New Seelampur, Delhi, and is 29 years old.
- CCL (Child in Conflict with Law) ABC, lives in a Jhuggi in J Block and is 17 years old.
- CCL (Child in Conflict with Law) XYZ, resides in a Jhuggi in J Block and is 15 years old.
During the investigation, incriminating evidence was collected against the accused persons, namely, Zikra, Sahil, and the two CCLs, who were found to have hatched a conspiracy to carry out an attack on Kunal. The roles of the accused at Sl. Nos. 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6 were also found to correspond with assisting the main accused to escape and conceal himself. They were also found to have harboured the accused.
During the investigation, evidence collected by the police against the accused persons confirmed their involvement in this most heinous crime. It has come to light that Sahil had an old rivalry with Kunal, and on 17.04.25, the gang caught hold of Kunal and stabbed him multiple times.
Sincere efforts are being made to recover the weapons used in the commission of the crime.
Further investigation in the case is ongoing.
