On Friday, the Indian Medical Association (IMA) will stage a countrywide protest to seek a central law to safeguard doctors from assault. IMA's national president, Dr. JA Jayalal, informed that over 350,000 doctors will take part in the demonstration.
Doctors in Bihar and Kerala's central region will close their clinics in the morning. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and senior ministers, including Home Minister Amit Shah, will receive memorandums. According to the medical association, all 1,700 branches are planning festivities to commemorate the day of protest.
The apex medical group has issued a statement asking all of its state and local branches around the country to participate in the demonstration by wearing black badges, masks, ribbons, and shirts, as well as waging an awareness campaign against violence against healthcare professionals.
A spate of violence against doctors in Assam, Bihar, West Bengal, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Karnataka, and other states was described by the IMA as "extremely disturbing."It called for the implementation of a central hospital and Health Care Professionals Protection Act with the IPC and the Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC), as well as the standardization and enhancement of security in each hospital and the designation of hospitals as protected zones.
Members will wear black badges, ribbons, and black masks, according to Dr. Sanjay Patil, chairman of the Hospital Board of India's Pune chapter. A memorandum of requests will be given to the district collector and municipal commissioner, and mass petitions will be delivered to the Prime Minister.
