According to the news, on Monday night, some people were setting fireworks on the occasion of Devuthani Gyaras in Kanjar Mohalla of Khandwa. There was a dispute between two people regarding this fireworks and then this dispute of two people turned into a dispute between two communities. During this there was heavy stone pelting from both the sides. During this, 6 motorcycles parked on the roadside were vandalized and two bikes were set on fire.
On the information of the uproar, the police reached the spot and tried to pacify the dispute with great difficulty. While on one hand the police was trying to pacify the dispute, on the other hand a mob of people pelted stones at a wedding ceremony at Bhagat Singh Chowk in the city. Actually it was a wedding reception program of a Hinduist leader, on which stones were pelted. The guests somehow saved their lives by hiding here and there on stone pelting. Many people have been injured in this stone pelting.
At the same time, the police has taken a strict stand regarding this dispute and has registered a case against 20 people. Police have detained 6 people on the basis of CCTV footage. Search is being done in the entire area by the district administration and police. It is noteworthy that in the area where the stone pelting incident took place, action is being taken to remove the encroachment from the government land. Police believe that glass bottles and other items kept in the junk shop were used in stone pelting. After the incident, the district administration and the municipal corporation took the government action in the area.
