Rhea Chakraborty will stay in Jail till Sept 23 as Mumbai court has refused to grant bail
The NCB has alleged that Rhea procured drugs for actor Sushant Singh Rajput who allegedly committed suicide on June 14 by hanging from the ceiling fan at his home in Bandra.
Actress Rhea Chakraborty, who was arrested on September 9 by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) of Mumbai, will remain in Byculla jail till September 23.
The NCB has alleged that Rhea procured drugs for actor Sushant Singh Rajput who allegedly committed suicide on June 14 by hanging from the ceiling fan at his home in Bandra.
She had filed a petition for bail through her lawyer Satish Maneshinde but the court rejected it. Maneshinde will now challenge the refusal in the Bombay High Court.
While arguing in favour of bail, Maneshinde told the court that she never confessed to the crime but was coerced to do that. He argued that charges on Rhea are false as she never committed any crime.
She also told that court that multiple investigating agencies have lodged the cases against her and it has taken a toll on her mental health.
However, the NCB lawyer opposed it saying that if she will be released on bail, she might tamper with the evidences or try to influence the witnesses.
After hearing the arguments of the both parties, the court decided to order in favour of NCB.
