Maharashtra Board 10th and 12th Result: A letter of invitation to a public debate was sent to Rahul Gandhi and PM Narendra Modi by ex-judges Madan B Lokur and Ajit P Shah and N Ram, a senior journalist on May 9.
On Saturday Rahul Gandhi accepted the invitation but there has been no confirmation from PM Modi till now.
The letter said it was for a Public debate between Rahi Gandhi and Narendra Modi so we can respond to each side's allegations and challenges.
It also said that the Public is also worried because they've only heard allegations and challenges from either side with no meaningful responses.
Rahul Gandhi accepting the invitation said on X “It would be a positive initiative for major parties to present their vision to the country through a single platform for a healthy democracy. Congress welcomes this initiative and accepts the invitation for discussion. The country also expects the Prime Minister to participate in this dialogue.”

Along with the post, he also added a letter with it which said, “"I have discussed your invitation with Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge. We agree that such a debate will help people understand our respective vision and enable them to make an informed choice. It is also critical to put to rest any unsubstantiated allegations attributed to our respective parties. As the principal parties fighting the election, the public deserve to hear from their leaders directly. Accordingly, either myself or the Congress President would be pleased to participate in such a debate."
He further added that to let them know if PM Modi has accepted the letter so they can discuss the debate in detail.
Both leaders could nominate a representative for the debate.
