PS 1 Box Office Collection: Mani Ratnam's film broke records on the first day itself

Mani Ratnam has once again made people aware of the opulence and grandeur of the Chola Empire through 'Ponniyin Selvan'. The film has the perfect combo of thrill, intrigue and drama, hence the film has exploded at the box office on day one. The film has emerged as the highest number 4 opener of all time.

Ponniyin Selvan 1 has now created new records in terms of budget and box office collection. The Opening Box Office Collection of Vikram, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Jayam Ravi, Karthi and Trisha starrer 'PS1' has opened to a bumper at the Tamil Nadu box office. It is the fourth highest worldwide opening ever as a Tamil film.

'Ponniyin Selvan I' box office first day earnings estimates have proved that the film is ready to break many records. Going by the advance booking numbers and initial trends, Mani Ratnam's film has collected a massive Rs 50-60 crores on the first day.Ponniyin Selvan 1 has been released in around 3150 screens worldwide.
