The current Indian government is trying to make education inclusive and equitable and for that, it looks for the support and collaboration of all sections of the society.
Speaking on this issue, Vice President, M Venkaiah Naidu stressed the need for quality education for every child irrespective of his economic status. In fact, Naidu asked the private schools to come forward for it. He said that these schools should help the underprivileged and needy children in their education and career growth.
He made these remarks while addressing a gathering after inaugurating the State-of-the-art Indoor Sports Arena and L’atelier: a dedicated block for Arts, Drama & Music at the Greenwood High International School in Bengaluru on February 26.
"Schools must include community service in their curriculum so that children develop an attitude of giving back to society at a young age," he said. He also asked schools to give equal importance to sports and other extracurricular activities for the overall growth of students and make them confident in life.
Along with these, he also asked schools to engage students in activities such as gardening and plantation so that they remain close to nature and understand the importance of the protection of the environment.
VP Naidu also said, “Students should imbibe our civilizational values and strive to protect India’s glorious cultural heritage. We must restore values, preserve heritage, promote our culture and feel proud to be a Bharatiya.”
He added, ““India is on the move today and it is time to go back to our roots.”
