PM Modi’s 5 Key Independence Day Messages: On Independence Day, August 15 Prime Minister Narendra Modi hosted the flag from the ramparts of the Red Fort for the 11th consecutive time, he broke the record of his immediate predecessor Manmohan Singh.
PM Narendra Modi became the hoist of the Tricolour for the third highest time. This record lies with our first Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru, he has honoured 17 times from 1947 to 1964.
On Independence Day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi highlighted five key messages. He spoke highly on crimes against women and called for a 'Secular Civil Code'.
He drew attention to the safety of Hindus in Bangladesh and launched a political attack on corruption and negativity against India and he ensured a terror-free India.
He gave five big messages in the speech which lasted up to 90 minutes, he expressed his grief over crimes against a trainee doctor at Kolkata’s RG Kar Medical College.
Modi has expressed his support for his party's main promises – a uniform civil code and 'One Nation, One Election'. He pointed to the need for the country to adopt a "Secular Civil Code" in replacement of the "communal civil code" currently in place.

The PM said, expressing his grief over the rising crimes against women. “We need to stop the atrocities on our women. People are angered by what is been happening to women across the country.”
“All of us need to take this issue seriously, both at the state and central level. Action needs to be quick and swift and media must highlight the punishment given to the perpetrators so that it can act as a deterrent.”
Hindus in Bangladesh
The PM again reiterated his concern for the safety of Hindus in Bangladesh. “I understand the situation in Bangladesh and it is natural for us to be worried, but I am hoping that the attacks on minorities will stop soon and the rule of law will prevail. Bangladesh must ensure safety of Hindus. We will continue to help development in Bangladesh,” the PM said.
Corruption and Political Attack
“Some people can’t see India’s progress. They are full of negativity. The country needs to safeguard itself from such people who want to lead India to anarchy and destruction. People need to understand this dirty design,” the Prime Minister said from Red Fort.
Modi also promised tough action against corruption and drew attention to no compromises. “Our country has overcome an entire regime of corruption. I have opened a warfront against the corrupt.”
“There have been personalised attack on me, but my prestige is not more important than the cause of this Nation. I want to install a fear in the minds of the corrupt so that they cannot have the courage to cheat the common man,” Modi said.
“We will continue to have zero tolerance on corruption,” the PM added.
Governance Model
Modi said that the country used to be attacked by terrorists in the past, but due to actions like surgical strikes and air strikes now it has become stronger.
He also mentioned ‘Developed India-2047’ that a lot of work is being done with suggestions from many people to make India better.
“If 40 crore individuals could successfully achieve the dream of independence, then imagine the potential of 140 crore people now,” the PM said.
PM Modi also said that even after the Independence citizens of the country have gone through a kind of “mai-baap” culture. “But we changed this model of governance. Today the government itself goes to the beneficiary,” the PM said.
He added that the ‘Chalega dekhenge’ norm was known as the status quo, but his government worked to change this mindset.
He also shared that India was ready to host the Olympics in 2036.
