PM Modi will visit Nepal on May 16, will hold talks with Prime Minister Deuba

PM Narendra Modi will make a one-day visit to Nepal on 16 May. Modi will visit Lumbini, the birthplace of Lord Gautam Buddha, on the occasion of Buddha Purnima. The Ministry of External Affairs has given this information on Thursday. The ministry said that Modi will visit the neighboring country on the invitation of Nepal's PM Sher Bahadur Deuba.
The ministry said that Modi will offer prayers at the Mayadevi temple in Lumbini. Apart from this, he will also address a function organized by Lumbini Development Trust.
Modi will be conferred with an honorary doctorate by Lumbini Buddhist University. A resolution in this regard has been passed by the University Executive Council.
The Indo-Nepal border has been sealed due to the local body elections in Nepal. The border of both the countries will now be opened for the movement of the general public at 7 pm on May 13. Voting for the civic body elections is to be held in Nepal on May 13. The border has been sealed so that there is no disturbance on the day of polling.
