PM Modi praises first dose vaccination of over 50 per cent of youngsters
The Covid-19 vaccination process achieved a big success on January 19 when the country completed one dose vaccination to more than 50 per cent of youngsters in the age group between 15 to 18.
The Covid-19 vaccination process achieved a big success on January 19 when the country completed one dose vaccination to more than 50 per cent of youngsters in the age group between 15 to 18.
The credit this landmark achievement goes to healthcare workers and vaccinators across the country who under the guidance of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare worked relentlessly to achieve the targets.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi heaped praise on the healthcare workers, youngsters and all other stakeholders for this success. He retweeted a tweet of the Union Health Minister, Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya saying that the achievement is quite encouraging.
The Prime Minister said, "Young and youthful India showing the way! This is encouraging news. Let us keep the momentum. It is important to vaccinate and observe all COVID-19 related protocols. Together, we will fight this pandemic."
Earlier, Union Health Minister, Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya informed in a tweet, “Big day for India's fight against COVID-19! Over 50% of our youngsters between 15-18 age group have received their 1st dose of #COVID19 vaccine. Well done, my Young Friends! Your enthusiasm for vaccination is inspiring people all over India.”
Though the Ministry is encouraging youngsters to come forward for the vaccination yet a section of experts believes that children below 18 don’t need vaccines at all as their natural immunity is quite good.
