Piyush Jain becomes a matter of political tussle between Narendra Modi and Akhilesh Yadav

Kanpur based businessman Piyush Jain who was arrested as 200 crore was found at his residence has become a matter of political tussle between the Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Samajwadi Party Leader Akhilesh Yadav.

Akhilesh Yadav accused the ruling party that Piyush Jain was a BJP businessman to which Narendra Modi retaliated by linking the jailed perfume trader Piyush Jain to the Samajwadi Party. “The people of Kanpur understand business and trade well. Before 2017, the perfume of corruption that they had sprinkled all over Uttar Pradesh is there for everyone to see,” Narendra Modi said taking a jibe.

PM Modi while addressing the crowd taunted the previous governments that were the ruling party in the Uttar Pradesh state. He said that the previous government won a lottery to loot the state for five years" but the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government was working with honesty and accountability".

Akhilesh Yadav, in return denied any connection between the Samajwadi Party and Piyush Jain. He said that Piyush Jain was BJP’s own business man who got raided by mistake, or else he would have continued playing his part in corruption just like the ruling party.
