Parliament Budget Session Day 2 LIVE: On Tuesday, March 11, 2025, Opposition protests marked the commencement of the proceedings in the Rajya Sabha as Deputy Chairman Harivansh Narayan rejected the admission of notices under Rule 267. The opposition parties filed 21 notices, of which 18 were filed by the TMC, Congress, BJD, and AAP regarding the dubious voter ID. Protests led to a temporary adjournment of the House.

The second phase of the Budget Session of Parliament began on March 10, 2025, Monday, with uproar over the alleged imposition of the Hindi language. The Lok Sabha saw heightened tensions after DMK members protested against Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan's statement that Tamil Nadu was "dishonest" regarding the implementation of PM Schools for Rising India (PM SHRI) scheme.
Senior Congress leaders met to deliberate on formulating a strategy going into the second phase of the Budget session, with sources confirming that the Parmeshable and stand firmly against the National Education Policy 2020 will be the major issues to be countered. The party will also take the chance to oppose the Waqf (Amendment) Bill if it comes for discussion and clearance and will add its voice to raise concerns over delimitation.
Gogoi urged PM Modi to visit the state to brief the House on the reasons for imposing the President's Rule in the state. "What is the state of Vidhan Sabha in the state-is it dissolved or in suspended animation?" the Congress leader wanted to know.
It is relevant to note that the Lok Sabha passed the Bills of Lading Bill, 2024, on Monday. The Bill seeks to modernize India's bill of lading issuance legal regime. A bill of lading is a document issued by a freight carrier to a shipper indicating the rights and liabilities with respect to property being transported. It provides details including types, quantity, condition, and destination of goods being carried. The new legislation aims to revise existing laws to make the legal provisions easier and facilitate greater trade operations.
