Nupur Sharma files petition in Supreme Court, seeks a stay on the arrest

Former BJP spokesperson Nupur Sharma has filed an application in the Supreme Court seeking a stay on the arrest in the FIR registered against her. An FIR has been registered against Nupur for making a controversial statement about the Prophet. Nupur has also demanded a direction to club all the FIRs. Nupur Sharma has also told a threat to her life in the application.

The case is listed before the same bench of Justices Surya Kant and JB Pardiwala, who had earlier held Sharma responsible for violence in the country over her blasphemous remarks on Prophet Mohammad.

In this regard, The Apex Court will hear on Tuesday, her application seeking a stay on her arrest for the FIRs registered against her.
