North East Team of Welcome Police arrests a Desperate Criminal, Recovers Pistol, Motorcycle, Mobile Phones, and Knives

New Delhi: In a major development, the North East Team of Welcome Police arrested a desperate criminal, and recovered a Pistol, Motorcycle, Mobile Phones, and Knives. The accused have been identified as Zubair (22), who as per the release is illiterate, a drug addict, and jobless, and also had previous involvement in a Murder and Burglary Case.

According to Sanjay Kumar Sain, Dy. Commissioner of Police, North-East District, New Delhi, “On the 8th of March, at about 09:20 PM a police team comprising Const. Babu Lal and Const. Sunder under the supervision of SHO/Welcome while patrolling a 66-foot road reached a Ganda Nala Puliya. There, in front of Shamshan Ghat, the Police noticed a person arriving on a motorcycle without a registration plate. Sensing the police presence the motorcyclist tried to make a U-turn in a bid to run away but his motorcycle skidded and fell on the road. He left the motorcycle and started running in a nearby street but was chased by the police on foot and caught hold within a short distance. On cursory search, one, sophisticated semi-automatic pistol loaded with one live cartridge, one meat chopper, and two knives were recovered from his possession.”

Later, during the investigation, the Police identified their identity as Zubair (22). While asking for the documents, he was unable to provide the documents for the same and tried to bluff the Police. On further inquiry, the motorcycle was found to be Bajaj Dominar-400, registered to vide No. DL-9 SBV-7537 & stolen vide e-FIR No. 005378/22 dated 01.03.22, PS Hari Nagar Delhi.

Accordingly, a case vides FIR No. 323/22 dated 08.035.22 under the 25 Arms Act, & 102 Cr. PC, P.S Welcome, Delhi was registered and an investigation was taken up. During the course of the investigation, he confessed to his crime and disclosed his involvement in other cases also. In his instance, two mobile phones stolen from Muzaffar Nagar were also recovered. Sincere efforts are on to nab the source of weapons. As per the Police, further investigation into the case is in progress.
