North East Team of Sonia Vihar Police recovers Two Bootleggers in Different Cases, finds Bottles of Illicit Liquor
In a major development, the North east Team of Sonia Vihar Police has arrested two bootleggers in different cases, and also recovered 504 Quarter Bottles of Illicit Liquor, which was found to be marked for “Sale in Haryana” only
In a major development, the North east Team of Sonia Vihar Police has arrested two bootleggers in different cases, and also recovered 504 Quarter Bottles of Illicit Liquor, which was found to be marked for “Sale in Haryana” only. The accused have been identified as Komal (23) and Bunty (24).
According to Sanjay Kumar Sain, Deputy Commissioner of Police, North East Distrcit, “On the 17th of March, a Police team comprising Const. Amit and Const. Dheeraj under the supervision of SHO Sonia Vihar Delhi while patrolling in the area near Lal Farm Chowk received secret information regarding illicit liquor. PS-Sonia Vihar conducted a raid at the suspected location on the instance of the informer, and a person sitting on a scooty was apprehended.
During the search, 110 quarter bottles of illicit liquor packed in a white gunny bag and kept in the footboard of the scooty were recovered. On Examination, his identity was established as Komal (23). Further on his instance 5 cartons containing 250 quarter bottles of illicit liquor marked as “For Sale in Haryana Only” were also recovered from a nearby location. Accordingly, a case vide FIR No 321/22 dated 17.05.2022 u/s 33 Delhi Excise Act, PS-Sonia Vihar, Delhi was registered and investigation taken up.
Apart from this, Mr Sain added that , one more raid was conducted and a person namely Bunty (24) was apprehended from the area near 1st Pusta market and 144 quarter bottles of illicit liquor marked as “For Sale in Haryana Only” packed in a gunny Bag were recovered from his possession. Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 322/22 dated 17.05.2022 u/s 33 Delhi Excise Act, PS-Sonia Vihar, Delhi was registered and investigation was taken up. During the course of investigation, he confessed to his crime and disclosed his involvements in other cases of bootlegging.
