North East Team of Shastri Park and Dayalpur Police arrest Bootleggers, recovers 70 boxes of Illicit Liquor, and Mini Tempo with fake registration Plate

New Delhi: In a major development, the North East Team of Shastri Park and Dayalpur Police arrested bootleggers respectively. The Police Team of Shastri Park Arrested one Bootlegger, recovered 70 Boxes (3500 Quarters) of Illicit Liquor which was meant to be sold in Haryana only, and one “Tata Ace '' Mini Tempo with a fake registration plate.The accused is identified as Rustam (22).With The recovery of 94 quarter bottles of Illicit Liquor, one female bootlegger was arrested by Team PS Dayalpur. 

As per Devesh Kumar Mahla, Additional Dy. Commissioner of Police-I, “On the 4th of March, the PS Shastri Park received secret information regarding smuggling of illicit liquor in a mini tempo. Acting on the tip-off, a police team comprising PSI Raj Kumar, HC Niranjan, HC Dharamvir and Const. Rahish laid a trap at 2nd Pusta Road, Khajuri Khas to Shastri Park and started checking. At around 03:35 AM, one TATA Ace Mini Tempo was seen approaching a police picket but seeing the checking by the police team, the driver of the TATA Ace mini Tempo tried to make a U-turn.

Noticing this the alert police team immediately chased and forcibly stopped the mini tempo. On checking, 70 boxes (3500 quarters of illicit liquor for Sale in Haryana only) were recovered from the mini tempo.

Accordingly, a case vides FIR No. 375/22 dated 04.04.22 under 33/58 Delhi Excise Act & 482 IPC, PS-Shastri Park, Delhi was registered. The driver of the mini tempo namely Rustam S/o Badshah, Age 22 years was apprehended and investigation in the case was taken up.

During the course of the investigation, it surfaced that the registration plate of the mini tempo has been morphed. The same was verified through its engine and Chassis number vide which, it was established that the original registration number of the mini tempo is DL-1LP-6068. On examination, the driver confessed to his crime and revealed his other involvements in Haryana which are being verified. He further disclosed that he works for a person who gets the vehicle loaded from an area near RK Vidyalaya, Narela and escorts the consignment on a scooty to the destined place, he was never disclosed about the destination in advance.

Similarly, Team Dayalpur, on the 3rd of March, while patrolling in the area a police team comprising SI Mahipal, Const. Harendra, Const. Rohit, Const. Satbir and W/Const. Komal reached at Karawal Nagar Road they noticed a lady, who was carrying a white color gunny bag on her shoulder, seeing the police team hurriedly entering Gali No. 5. Police team immediately chased and stopped her. On search, 94 quarter bottles of illicit liquor for sale in Haryana only were recovered from her gunny bag.

Accordingly, a case vides FIR No. 257/22 u/s- 33 Delhi Excise Act, PS Dayalpur, Delhi was registered and the accused was apprehended, who confessed to her crime, on further verification she was found to be involved in 4 cases of Delhi Excise Act previously.

Further investigation in the case is under progress.
