North East Team of GokulPuri, Dayalpur, and Welcome Police arrests Snatchers with Multiple Criminal Involvements, recovers Stolen Auto Rickshaw and Country Made Pistol among others
In continuation of the special operation “Ankush” launched by the North-East District with the objective to curb Street and Organized Crime, deter the criminals/anti-social elements, and more importantly enhance the sense of safety among citizens, the North East team of Gokulpuri, Dayalpur and Welcome Police have arrested snatchers with multiple criminal involvements.

Gokulpuri Police recovered a button-actuated knife and one stolen auto-rickshaw, the Dayalpur Police recovered one Scooty and a knife whereas the Welcome Police recovered a Country Made Pistol among others.
According to Devesh Kumar Mahla, Addl. Dy. Commissioner of Police-I, North East District, “Due to an increase in cases of pick-pocketing in areas specifically near bus stands and inside buses, a police team comprising Const. A trap was laid, and on his cursory search of the person who was sitting in the rear seat of the auto, one button actuated knife was recovered from his possession. On checking the details of the Auto-rickshaw, it was found to be stolen. Accordingly, a case vides FIR No. 185/22 U/S 25 Arms Act & 102 has been registered and an investigation was taken up. The accused were identified as Rafiq (32) and Asif (28). During the course of the investigation, their identities were established as Rafiq.
Mr. Mahla further added the case of Dayalpur Police Station mentioned that “On the 8th of March, a police team comprising HC Parmod, Const. Harendra, Const. Satbir, Const. Deepak and Const. Rohit while patrolling in the area reached Khatta Gali No 14 Main Brijpuri Road Old Mustafabad Delhi and at 08.00 PM started vehicles checking on pickets. During the course of an investigation, an accused was caught whose identity was established as Sajid (30). He confessed to his crime and disclosed his involvement in other criminal cases. On sustained interrogation his previous involvements in 15 cases of Theft/Snatching/Robbery and Arms Act also surfaced.
At Welcome Police Station, the Police recovered an illegal weapon after receiving secret information. The alert police laid a trap, chased and overpowered the accused, who was later identified as Deepak (28). On a cursory search, one country-made pistol loaded with one live cartridge was recovered from his conscious possession. Accordingly, a case vides FIR No. 275/22 dated 08.04.2022 u/s 25 Arms Act, PS Welcome, Delhi has been registered and an investigation was taken up. On sustained interrogation, he confessed to his crime and disclosed his previous criminal involvements.
